Scott R. Jacobsen

Scott R. Jacobsen focuses his practice on corporate governance, securities fraud, and other complex representative litigation. He joins the firm’s litigation group to pursue complex commercial and other business matters. He received his B.A. and M.A. from The George Washington University and J.D. from William & Mary Law School.

Mr. Jacobsen spent six years with Scott+Scott Attorneys at Law, pursuing both direct and derivative claims relating to securities fraud, director and officer mismanagement, and breach of fiduciary duties. In that capacity, Mr. Jacobsen directed investigations into corporate books and records and worked to fashion corporate governance remedies for large companies, including multinational corporations. During his career, Mr. Jacobsen has also pursued direct claims against newly-formed companies related to misleading offering documents and self-interested funding transactions. Mr. Jacobsen previously interned with the Office of the Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and with the American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia before graduating from law school.
